Ingredients:
2 large Eggs
10 oz. soft caramels, unwrapped
2 1/2 c all-purpose flour
2 c semisweet chocolate chips
1 tsp flaked sea salt
1 c unsalted butter, softened
14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
1 c packed light brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp kosher salt
1/2 c granulated sugar
1 tsp baking soda
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Line with aluminium foil and apply cooking spray to a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Add the sugars and softened butter into the bowl of the electric mixer, then beat for 2 minutes until smooth.
Add vanilla, baking soda, salt, and eggs. Beat again until well blended.
Reduce the speed to low, then add flour and beat until well mixed.
Add the chocolate chips and stir until just incorporated.
Add 1/2 of the cookie dough to the prepared baking dish and press it to the bottom.
Place a medium saucepot on the stove and turn the heat to medium-low.
Add the unwrapped caramels and sweetened condensed milk. Stir and cook for a few minutes until melted completely.
Add the filling over the cookie dough and spread it evenly.
Add the rest of the cookie dough on top of the caramel filling and spread it evenly as well.
Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 25 to 30 minutes or until done.
Remove from the oven, then sprinkle sea salt flakes on top. Allow the bars to cool at room temperature.
Slice into even servings.
