I love these amazing spirals! Serve this with beer and you have yourself the best appetizer! It is so refreshing to eat and the juicy taste of the zucchinis made this recipe very delicious. Feel free to add more ingredients though if you feel like this can do better. For the dipping sauce, try mixing mayonnaise, ketchup, and hot sauce. Another thing I love about this is the spiral shape. I don’t but for me, it tastes better! We eat with our eyes as well, right? I hope you all love this recipe. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
3 cups of vegetable oil
1 egg
1 tablespoon milk
½ cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup cornstarch
1 zucchini, cut into spirals using a spiral slicer
1 teaspoon seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay®)
Directions:
Step 1: Place a large saucepan on the stove and add in oil. Heat to about 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Step 2: In a medium mixing bowl, add in the egg and milk. Whisk until well blended.
Step 3: Transfer the mixture into a gallon-size resealable plastic bag.
Step 4: In another medium mixing bowl, add in the cornstarch and flour. Whisk until well mixed then transfer into another resealable bag.
Step 5: Put the zucchini spirals into the milk and egg mixture. Seal the bag and coat the zucchinis evenly.
Step 6: Remove the zucchini spirals from the milk mixture and put them into the flour mixture and shake until completely coated.
Step 7: Remove from the bag and shake off the excess flour.
Step 8: Fry the coated zucchini spirals into the preheated oil for 2 to 4 minutes or until the color turns golden brown.
Step 9: Place the fried fried spirals on a clean plate lined with paper towels to remove the excess oil.
Step 10: Season with the seafood seasoning.
Step 11: Serve and enjoy!
