This recipe has always been a part of my family. My grandma used to bake these when we were little. You’ll be amazed by how delicious these cookies are. It is very simple to make and has the simplest ingredients ever! Try this recipe and you are in for a treat!
Ingredients:
1 cup butter
2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
1 (1 ounce) square milk chocolate
¾ cup white sugar, divided, or as needed
½ cup packed brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
Directions:
Step 1: Place the unsweetened chocolate, milk, and butter in a microwavable glass. Place inside the microwave and heat for 15 minutes. Stir every 2 minutes until the butter is melted completely. Remove from the microwave and stir until well mixed.
Step 2: Add 1/2 cup of brown and white sugar onto the melted chocolate mixture and stir until well combined. Add in vanilla extract and 1 egg. Stir until well mixed.
Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, add baking soda, cinnamon, flour, and salt. Stir until well combined.
Step 4: Transfer in the chocolate mixture into the flour mixture and stir until well blended.
Step 5: Place the dough inside the fridge for 30 minutes to chill.
Step 6: Prepare the oven and preheat to 190 degrees C or 375 degrees F.
Step 7: In a small mixing bowl, add the 1/4 cup of sugar.
Step 8: Get the dough and form 1-inch balls out of it. Roll the balls into the sugar and arrange them on the cookie sheets. Press the balls gently to flatten them and leave 1-inch space between each cookie.
Step 9: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the cookies are slightly brown.
Step 10: Remove from the oven and let them sit on a wire rack to cool at room temperature.
Step 11: Serve and enjoy!
Note:
If you want perfect circular cookies, roll the dough in a tube before putting inside the fridge then slice it with a knife.
