This Baked Chicken Parmesan is just too good not to share with you! I’m sure that everyone is going to love this. In less than an hour, you can have the best meal ever! Serve this with spaghetti if you like. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
6-8 oz. fresh mozzarella, sliced about 1/8-inch thick
1/2 c grated Parmesan cheese
2 c marinara or spaghetti sauce
3 pieces of boneless, skinless chicken breast
1 c Panko or Italian bread crumbs
2 Eggs, whisked
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp pepper
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 212 degrees C or 415 degrees F.
Apply cooking spray onto a baking sheet.
Horizontally slice the chicken into two, then slice each into 6 pieces.
Wrap each chicken with plastic, then use a meat mallet to gently pound it into 1/4-inch pieces.
In a mixing bowl, crack the egg. Season with salt and pepper. Whisk until well blended.
In another mixing bowl, add garlic powder, breadcrumbs, and Parmesan cheese. Whisk until well blended.
Dredge each chicken into the egg, then into the breadcrumbs. Shake off any excess.
Add the chicken to the prepared pan and arrange them in a single layer.
Place the baking pan inside the preheated oven and bake the chicken for about 25 minutes or until they turn golden brown. Make sure to flip the chicken after 12 minutes to cook the other sides.
Remove the chicken from the oven, then add 1/4 cup of sauce on top and spread it evenly. Add a slice of mozzarella cheese to each chicken.
Put them back inside the preheated oven and bake for another 5 minutes or until the cheese has melted completely.
Remove the chicken from the oven and allow them to rest for a few minutes at room temperature.
Sprinkle freshly chopped oregano or basil on top to garnish.
Serve with spaghetti and enjoy!
