A FIREFIGHTER’S MEATLOAF

Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 1 hr 15 mins | Total: 1 hr 30 mins | Servings: 4 | Yield: 1 – 9×5 inch loaf

This meatloaf is fully-loaded with very delicious ingredients! This recipe was introduced to me by a dear friend of mine that lives in Canada. She told me that this originated from firefighters that’s why it was named A Firefighter’s Meatloaf! For whatever name it has, what’s important is the taste. Give it a try and you will be amazed; I am sure about that. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

2 slices whole-wheat bread

2 pounds ground beef

1 green onion, chopped

2 tablespoons chopped onion

1 cup medium salsa

2 tablespoons whole-grain Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons minced garlic

salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon barbeque sauce

Directions:

Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 190 degrees C or 375 degrees F.

Step 2: In a small mixing bowl, pour in warm water and add in the bread. Allow the bread to soak.

Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, add in the beef. Remove the bread from the warm water and drain.

Step 4: Add in the bread into the bowl with the beef. Add in the onion, green onion, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salsa, garlic, salt, and pepper. Use your hands to mix until well combined.

Step 5: Create a loaf shape out of the mixture and place it in a prepared greased loaf pan.

Step 6: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour. Remove the excess oil and spread the barbeque sauce on top.

Step 7: Bake for another 15 minutes or until cooked through.

Step 8: Remove from the oven and let it sit at room temperature to cool for at least 10 minutes.

Step 9: Serve and enjoy!
