MILLION-DOLLAR SPAGHETTI

This dish tastes luxurious! It is indeed a million-dollar spaghetti! You have got to bite your teeth into this one. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1/2 c butter, cut into slices-divided

6 c homemade marinara sauce, -divided or 2 (24 oz.) jars of marinara sauce

8 oz. cottage cheese or ricotta cheese

1 1/2 lbs. sweet Italian sausage, casing removed

8 oz. cream cheese

16 oz. dried spaghetti noodles

3 c mozzarella, shredded-divided

1 c (1 Medium) yellow onion chopped

1/4 c sour cream

4 cloves garlic, minced

3 tsp dried Italian seasoning

salt and pepper

Directions:

Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.

Place a large pot with water on the stove and turn the heat to high. Allow the water to boil.

Add the pasta and 1 tbsp of salt. Cook for a few minutes or until al dente. Drain and put the pasta back into the pot.

Pour 3 cups of marinara sauce over the cooked pasta, then toss until well coated.

Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.

Add 2 tbsp of olive oil and allow it to become hot.

Add the garlic and onion, then sauté for 5 minutes until aromatic and translucent.

Add the sausage, then cook for a few more minutes until crumbly and brown. Discard any accumulated grease.

Add the rest of the marinara sauce, then stir until well blended. Remove from the heat.

Add 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, Cottage cheese, Italian seasoning, sour cream, and cream cheese into a mixing bowl. Stir until well blended.

Add 1/2 of the butter into a baking dish.

Add 1/2 of the spaghetti into the baking dish and spread it evenly.

Add the cheese mixture on top of the spaghetti and spread it evenly as well.

Add the rest of the butter on top of the cheese layer.

Add the rest of the spaghetti on top of the butter.

Lastly, add the meat sauce over the spaghetti and spread it evenly.

Sprinkle the rest of the mozzarella cheese on top.

Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 35 to 45 minutes or until done.
