EMPANADA DOUGH

Ingredients:

1 Egg, at room temperature and whisked

½ c warm water

4 c all-purpose flour

½ tsp salt

1 stick + 6 tbsp cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes

Directions:

Add flour into a mixing bowl, then add butter and salt. Whisk until well blended.

Add egg and water, then stir until well blended.

Sprinkle flour onto a flat surface, then place the dough on it. Shape the dough into a ball.

Knead the dough for 5 minutes until smooth.

Slice the dough into 25 cuts. Roll each dough into a ball.

Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.

In the middle of each empanada, add 2 to 3 tbsp of the filling.

Pinch and seal the sides of each empanada.

Place them in the preheated oven and bake for about 25 minutes or until they turn golden brown.

Remove from the oven and allow them to cool at room temperature for a few minutes.

Serve and enjoy!
