An amazing recipe that’s reserved for the special time of Christmas. This delicious meal is made with pork sausage and cheddar cheese, and is sure to delight your entire family when they gather round.
Christmas can be really really hectic. There’s a whole lot to do, and yet you’ve got to feed the plenty of mouths around. (uggh!!!). Well, worry no more as there’s a recipe to gladden your heart. This Christmas sausage casserole is easy..like really almost ridiculously easy to make, doesn’t require many ingredients and yet, it’s super delish. I mean, I wonder why this has Christmas in its name. It should be named “everyday sausage casserole” because I could eat this everyday. This is just excellent when you’ve got all your family gathered round. You should try it
What you need
1 teaspoon mustard powder
1 pound ground pork sausage
3 large eggs, beaten
½ teaspoon salt
8 ounces shredded mild cheddar cheese
2 cups of milk
6 cups white bread, toasted and cut into dice
How to make
Step 1: Put the sausage into a medium skillet, and let it cook over medium heat until it is evenly brown.
Step 2: Mix the mustard powder, salt, eggs and milk in a medium sized bowl, then add the sausage, bread dice, and cheese, to the mustard powder mix and coat well with the mix.
Step 3: Transfer to a prepared dish, spread it out and then place the dish in the fridge for 8 hours, or more.
Step 4: Take out of the refrigerator, allow to come to room temperature, then heat on a 350 degrees preheated stove for about 45 minutes to an hour. Reduce the stove temperature to 325 degrees and heat for another 35 minutes, or until it is done.
