OVEN BARBECUE RIBS

These ribs smothered in a delicious BBQ sauce and cooked to perfection in the oven will surely satisfy all your cravings today! Serve them with rice or mashed potatoes, and you have yourself a meal to remember!

Ingredients:

RIBS:

1 tsp chili or Cayenne powder (optional)

2 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp cracked black pepper

1 tsp onion powder

2 tsp paprika

4 lbs (2 kg) baby back pork ribs

2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp cumin

2 tbsp olive oil

SAUCE:

1/2–1 tbsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

2 c (500 ml) barbecue sauce

2 tbsp olive oil

3 tbsp minced garlic

1 tsp salt

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Directions:

Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.

Remove the membrane coating the ribs.

Line with aluminium foil onto a baking sheet.

Place the ribs onto the prepared baking sheet and arrange them in a single layer.

In a mixing bowl, add paprika, garlic powder, chili, cumin, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well blended.

Sprinkle the mixed seasonings on top of the ribs.

Drizzle oil, then rub each rib until well coated.

Cover everything with aluminium foil.

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the ribs for about 2 hours.

In a mixing bowl, add all the ingredients for the sauce. Stir until well blended.

Brush the sauce over the ribs. Make sure to coat each well.

Turn the heat of the oven to about 460 degrees F or 230 degrees C.

Bake the ribs for another 10 minutes.

Broil for 3 more minutes.

Remove ribs from the oven and allow them to rest for at least 10 minutes at room temperature to incorporate all the flavors.
